From a young age we are asked, what do you want to be when you grow up? I remember saying I was going to be a lion taming ballerina princess. My Godson wants to be a zookeeper. I’m not sure what my niece wants to be anymore, maybe a teacher.
I’ve been lucky enough to have done a lot of things I’ve wanted to do. I pursued my career in television news, been a teacher and now I’m back in the corporate world. Ultimately, we all want a job where we are happy, have a good & steady paycheck and hopefully have some likable colleagues.
There are others that are willing to take a risk to something not so conventional or steady. Some are willing to go into business by themselves. We’ve heard of the overnight successes and the stumbled-upon-successes but most of the time it takes a great deal of insight and work. I’ve decided to go this route.
While I plan on keeping my steady, enjoyable job I am going to throw the rest of my time into something I have a passion for and hopefully will find a market. I can’t go into any specifics right now, I am doing this because it benefits me, physically, and I hope that it will benefit others in the same situation. I hope that it will pay off and I will have created something that will enable me to help my family, feed my creative genius, give to the less fortunate and make me proud of something I created.
Have you had a dream of your own business? Or creating something? Or inventing something?
