The Saga Pt. 8: The Cyclist

So, to recap TheSaga- I had just received an email from TheCyclist; who had apologized for not spending time with me and wanted to see me when I was back in California.

I emailed TheCyclist back and said it was nice to see an email from him and that I was in a relationship but would like to see him too.  He responded immediately, that he was happy I hadn’t dismissed him as he had me; he was part of my life, how could I?

Do you have that person who helped change how you perceived things?  This guy did a little of that for me.  He made me think; I already had someone who taught me how to have fun. TheCyclist made me think about things outside the norm and to enjoy them.

thecyclist, the saga

Later that fall I went to California to visit my family, I think it was a holiday, I paged him (does that tell you how old I am?) and we made plans for lunch.  He picked me up at my Grandparents house and we went to a restaurant in the middle of the day.  We spent hours upon hours talking and catching up.  He was still in school, as was I.  We were both finishing our Bachelor’s degrees and had been very busy.  It was so refreshing to have that kind of connection with someone other than ThePrince.  Someone who got me, who knew me and was so easy on the eyes.

We made plans for him to come over to my parents house to watch a movie and hang out.  And we did.  We watched a couple of movies, in the living room with no privacy because it wasn’t about getting hot and heavy.  It isn’t like anything went on – it was completely innocent.  On the 2nd or 3rd movie we fell asleep, my head on his shoulder and when I woke he was holding my hand.  It made my heart flip and the butterflies churn in my stomach.  He left early the next morning with nothing more than a hug.

I hoped I would see more of him in my short trip.  And the saga continues…
